Area Information

A Location That Suits Every Need
Fort Mill real estate has a lot to offer. With a population of about 8,000, Fort Mill enjoys a small town setting. It’s built on a rock-solid infrastructure, supported strongly by Springs Industries (now known as Springs Global), a locally owned business dating to 1887. Springs Industries – through the Springs and Close families – has created public parks (including the 2,300-acre Anne Springs Close Greenway), built public golf courses such as Springfield and sponsored innovative educational programs in local schools. The Fort Mill-York 4 School District academically outperforms every other district in the state. For these reasons, Fort Mill was a 2005 contender for CNN Money magazine’s “Best Places to Live” distinction.

Just 25 minutes away, Fort Mill offers the advantages of Charlotte’s eateries, entertainment venues and cultural attractions. Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the United States (behind New York), with Bank of America and Wachovia calling the city “home.” The Charlotte area also serves as home for Duke Energy, Lowe’s Home Improvement, SPX Corporation, Compass Group and more than 1.5 million residents.

Via the new Springfield Parkway, Springfield is just three miles from I-77 and six miles from I-485. Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is 17 miles northwest of the community. Click here to view an aerial of the Springfield area.
