Nearly half of Springfield's acreage
is dedicated to open space. On-site nature trails and neighborhood
parks comprise 123 acres. More than 7 miles of rough and sidewalk-covered
trails wind through the community.
Anne Springs Close Greenway
Just across Springfield Parkway, the Anne
Springs Close Greenway provides 32 miles of trails for hiking,
biking and horseback riding and fields for other outdoor recreation
activities. Springfield residents enjoy a paid membership, which
includes preferred pricing on facility rentals, fishing privileges,
and a subscription to the Greenway Guide newsletter.
Nation Ford Greenway
A section of the Nation
Ford Greenway runs for two miles along Sugar Creek on the north
side of the community. The packed earth trail, dotted with granite
boulders, traverses the creek and rises along the bluffs, providing
scenic views of the creek and surrounding landscape. It is accessible
from all phases of Springfield. Click
