Established 1873, Fort Mill is rich in both history and charm. Settled first by the Catawba Indians and then later, Scotch Irish and German colonists, Fort Mill flourished in the late 1800's as textile mills were established, including the Fort Mill Manufacturing Company, or as it's known today, Springs Industries.

Thanks to the vision and generosity of the Springs family, Fort Mill residents enjoy close proximity to the Anne Springs Close Greenway, a 2,300 acre protected area dedicated to providing affordable, quality recreational, educational, and community activities and facilities.
